How To Protect Computer from Infected PDFs Files?

Therefore, hackers split the code and distribute it often through encrypted- as smaller units of code in PDF documents. PDF docs consist of objects like text, fonts, spaces, forms,and hyperlink. there are at least 10000 objects in every 100 pages. Hackers split and distribute malicious codes to several objects so that they cannot be detected by virus scanners.
57% of web based malware attacks target vulnerabilities in PDF readers.
Ways to protect your PC from infected PDF files.
The first line of defense is to keep anti-virus software and Adobe Reader up to date to automatically scan and repair infected PDF files.
1. Switch Off Scripts:
In Adobe reader deactivate scripts in ‘Edit|Preferences|JavaSript’. In the menu item ‘Authorizations’, prevent the execution of external programs.
2. Use alternative PDF reader:
Since most of PDF exploits target Adobe Reader, an alternative like Foxit Reader is naturally more secure. Of course, this should also be updates regularly.
3. Online File Check:
Criminals send infected PDFs via email. To check such files, upload them with VirusTotal Uploader or use any other scanner.

Scratching the Surface by Vhils
Here's some lovely Monday inspiration coming at you compliments of the Portuguese-born, Lisbon-based artist Alexandre Farto, aka Vhils. Vhils is best known for his street art relief portraits, excavated from building walls using a variety of power tools, paint, bleach, and existing advertisements. "Immaterials:" Wi-Fi You Can See
It's not quite accurate because it translates three dimensions into two, but this project to render Wi-Fi visible and display the results in a short film is pretty wicked. Conceived of an executed by Timo Arnall, Jorn Knutsen and Einar Sneve Martinussen, Immaterials: Light Painting WiFi is about "investigating and contextualising WiFi networks through visualisation:"
The film is a continuation of our explorations of intangible phenomena that have implications for design and effect how both products and cities are experienced.... Radio and wireless communication are a fundamental part of the construction of networked cities. This generates what William Mitchell called an 'electromagnetic terrain' that is both intricate and invisible, and only hinted at by the presence of antennas.Check it out:

Αποζημιώσεις για κατεστραμμένες συσκευές
Η ΡΑΕ ζητά μάλιστα σχετική απολογιστική έκθεση από τη ΔΕΗ για τις διακοπές, αλλά και για τις αιτήσεις καταναλωτών.
Η ΡΑΕ μετά από ανταλλαγή απόψεων με ΔΕΗ και τον Συνήγορο του Καταναλωτή θεωρεί ότι η θέσπιση αποζημιώσεων πρέπει να αποτελεί το τελευταίο στάδιο μιας γενικότερης διαδικασίας, η οποία σε κάθε περίπτωση θα ρυθμιστεί στον υπό κατάρτιση από τη ΡΑΕ Κώδικα Διαχείρισης Δικτύου και θα διασφαλίζει την πλήρη ενημέρωση του καταναλωτή αναφορικά με τα αίτια εμφάνισης του προβλήματος.
Λαμβάνοντας υπ' όψη την πρόθεση της ΔΕΗ Α.Ε. να προχωρήσει άμεσα στην προτεινόμενη ενέργεια, την οποία και επικροτεί εκθέτει τις απόψεις της ως προς τις διαδικαστικές λεπτομέρειες και τις προϋποθέσεις εφαρμογής της πρότασης.
Η τροποποιημένη από τη ΡΑΕ πρόταση αποζημίωσης των καταναλωτών προβλέπει μεταξύ άλλων:
1. Η ΔΕΗ θα χορηγεί χρηματικό ποσό στους καταναλωτές της, στις περιπτώσεις πρόκλησης βλαβών σε ηλεκτρικές συσκευές τους, εξαιτίας τυχαίας διακοπής του ουδετέρου του εναερίου ή υπογείου δημοσίου δικτύου Διανομής ΧΤ, εφόσον συντρέχουν ταυτοχρόνως οι εξής προϋποθέσεις:
α) Ο καταναλωτής υποβάλει αίτηση στη ΔΕΗ Α.Ε. εντός τεσσάρων ημερών.
β) Η ΔΕΗ Α.Ε. αποδείξει το χαρακτηρισμό της «τυχαίας» διακοπής του ουδετέρου.
γ) Ο καταναλωτής θέσει επί 2 ημέρες, τις συσκευές στη διάθεση της ΔΕΗ ΑΕ.
δ) Ο καταναλωτής υποβάλλει στη ΔΕΗ Α.Ε., όταν του ζητηθεί, παραστατικό ηλεκτρολογικού συνεργείου, με το οποίο περιγράφεται το είδος κάθε βλάβης και τεκμηριώνεται το κόστος αποκατάστασης.
2. Η ΔΕΗ ΑΕ θα αποφασίζει επί των αιτήσεων καταναλωτών εντός 15 ημερών.
Σε σχέση με το προτεινόμενο ποσό αποζημίωσης αναφέρεται ανώτατο πλαφόν 300 ευρώ για βλάβες σε συσκευές με μονοφασική παροχή ΧΤ και 400 ευρώ για τριφασική παροχή ΧΤ. Επισημαίνεται ωστόσο η πρόταση του Συνηγόρου του Καταναλωτή για την αύξηση του ανώτατου χρηματικού ποσού κατ' ελάχιστο στα 500 ευρώ, πρόταση την οποία η ΡΑΕ θεωρεί εύλογη, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τα μέχρι σήμερα στοιχεία.
