11 Grown Up Cocktails Without the Alcohol
Basil Lemon Syrup: a great starter for lots of drinks. Mix in some bubbly water, a dash of cranberry juice and some fresh basil or mix it with some meyer lemonade for a tart lip smacker.
• Stormy Monday: a take on the Dark and Stormy, mix ginger beer with lime and bitters.
• Lemon Verbena and Orange Blossom Fizz: mixes one of our favorite flavors, lemon verbena, with a little something exotic. If you can't find any verbena, try a lemon verbena tisane or infusion and allow to cool, then mix the orange blossom water with that.
• Blackberry and Elderflower Spritzer with Mint: employs fresh berries, some bubbly and you can make it as sweet or sour as you like.
• La Boheme Noir: a mix of black tea and lavender infused honey
• Classic Shirley Temple with a twist: using a fresh DIY grenadine syrup mixed with a bt of lime to take the sweetness down a notch.
• Faux Mojito: using a standard mojito recipe, omit the alcohol and make sure to use plenty of fresh mint.
• Coco Cola: this one uses coconut milk, coke and lime juice in a cocktail shaker.
• Sophisticated Lady: a not too sweet mocktail with a muddled, salted cucumber, shaken over ice with cranberry juice, lime juice and simple syrup, then filtered and served over ice.
• Sweet and Salty Limeaid: not for everyone, this salty take on traditonal limeaid is popular in thai restuarants but is an acquired taste.
• Meyer Lemon Sangria: use that winter citrus with some ripe apples to create a non alcoholic sangria.
• Try a Shrub: it's basically drinkable vinegar and the complexity of the flavor really helps make it feel more like an adult beverage. See some recipes for making your own shrub here.

And remember, for an added dimension you can use maple syrup in place of a simple syrup or you can infuse your simple syrup to have flavors like lemon verbena androsemary.

A couple years ago, it seemed everyone and their mother was shooting with a Phantom camera, capturing life’s minutiae in ultra slow-motion. While the results were often beautiful, without any genuine motivation, the practice felt empty. And so it passed.
But when slow motion cinematography has a point—ah, that’s something different, isn’t it?
I submit exhibit A, “Nuit Blance,” a short film directed by Spy Films‘ Arev Manoukian. Set in a film noir metropolis, the film captures a surprisingly violent moment of connection between two strangers attracted to each other with such magnetism that neither panes of glass nor speeding vehicles can keep them apart.
The entire film is told in slow-motion, with sculptural explosions of glass and water enshrining the two would-be lovers like heavenly gossamer. The elongated seconds echo the longing each character feels for the other, and time itself seems to be an expression of their aching desires.

Εγεννήθηκα τον Μάιο του 1981. Ο λόγος που υπάρχω είναι μια λάθος διάγνωση του νοσοκομείου. Μια νοσοκόμα ενεκάτωσεν τες εξετάσεις της μάνας μου με τες εξετάσεις μιας άλλης. Τη ζωή μου τη χρωστώ σε μιαν ατζιαμήνα νοσοκόμα. Αν δεν ήταν τζιείνη, ήταν να με σκοτώσουν εμέναν μες την τζιοιλιάν της μάνας μου, αντίς που σκοτώσαν έναν μωρόν καλόν. Επήεν για θαλασσαιμικόν. Ήταν η ατυχία του να κάμει ανάλυσην η μάνα του την ίδιαν ημέραν με την δική μου. Ήταν η τύχη μου να ζήσω την θαλασσαιμίαν.

What is Google Chrome OS?

Chromium OS είναι το όνομα του project με τις πρώτες τεχνικές πληροφορίες:
1) Έτοιμο για τους χρήστες σε εναν χρόνο.
2) Boot σε 3-4 δευτερόλεπτα.
3) Οι εφαρμογές ονομάζονται panels και ανοίγουν από τυπικό μενού επιλογών με τα βασικά (chrome menu). Μένουν στατικές κατά την πλοήγηση.
3) Πλοήγηση στα "desktop" του OS μέσω διαδικασίας (overview mode) παρόμοιας του Activities του Gnome 3.
4) θα τρέχει δε σε επεξεργαστές x86 και ARM.
Μετά τα smartphones, στα οποία η εταιρεία κάνει ήδη αισθητή την παρουσία της με το λειτουργικό Android, η Google θέτει ως στόχο της κατ' αρχήν τα δημοφιλή netbooks με ένα λειτουργικό σύστημα βασισμένο στο Linux και στον browser της Chrome.
Στην εκδήλωση, η εταιρεία ανακοίνωσε τη διάθεση μιας πρώιμης έκδοσης του κώδικα του Chrome OS σε προγραμματιστές και στην κοινότητα του λογισμικού ανοικτού κώδικα.
Σύμφωνα με στελέχη της Google, στόχος του Chrome OS είναι να κάνει τον υπολογιστή να λειτουργεί όπως μια τηλεόραση, που ο χρήστης ανοίγει και κλείνει σε δευτερόλεπτα. Οι εφαρμογές και τα δεδομένα θα βρίσκονται στο Web και οι χρήστες δε θα μπορούν να εγκαταστήσουν προγράμματα.
Τα netbooks που θα έχουν εγκατεστημένο το Chrome OS, δε θα μπορούν να λειτουργήσουν χωρίς σύνδεση στο Internet, αλλά θα έχουν δυνατότητα πρόσβασης σε δεδομένα που έχουν αποθηκευθεί σε USB flash drives, εφόσον αυτά τα δεδομένα μπορούν να εμφανιστούν μέσα σε ένα browser.
Όπως διευκρίνισε ο Sundar Pichai, αντιπρόεδρος της Google στον τομέα της ανάπτυξης προϊόντων, τα συστήματα με το Chrome OS δεν προορίζονται να γίνουν κύρια συστήματα ενός χρήστη αλλά θα έχουν πάντα συνοδευτικό χαρακτήρα, καθώς θα υπάρχουν πράγματα που δεν μπορούν να κάνουν αφού δεν θα υπάρχουν διαθέσιμες αντίστοιχες εφαρμογές στο Web.
Ο ίδιος τόνισε επίσης ότι το Chrome OS δεν έχει σχεδιαστεί να τρέχει σε υπάρχον hardware, αλλά η Google θα καθορίσει έναν κατάλογο με hardware αναφοράς, που θα υποστηρίζει το Chrome OS. Ιδιαίτερα ενδιαφέρουσα είναι η λεπτομέρεια ότι το λειτουργικό σύστημα δε θα υποστηρίζει σκληρούς δίσκους, αλλά μόνο συσκευής αποθήκευσης solid state. Η ίδια η Google δε θα κατασκευάζει hardware για το λειτουργικό της, όπως το κάνει η Apple, αλλά θα έχει ευρύ έλεγχο πάνω στις συσκευές και υποσυστήματα που θα χρησιμοποιούνται με αυτό.
Βέβαια, η εταιρεία τονίζει ότι, εφόσον το Chrome OS είναι ανοικτού κώδικα, οποιοσδήποτε θα μπορεί να το χρησιμοποιήσει για να αναπτύξει ένα παρόμοιο σύστημα που θα βασίζεται σε κάποιον άλλο browser και θα υποστηρίζει διαφορετικό hardware.
